A New Party for the People

(ACP) Ft. Lauderdale, FL:  The American Centrist Party is proud to announce the official establishment of the National Committee of the American Centrist Party.  The ACP is based on the idea that the federal government should be responsive to those whom it governs, and that representatives should champion the causes and concerns of those who elected them to office.

Currently, the ACP believes that the federal government has swung towards an ultra right-wing Christian fundamentalist autocracy where the wishes of The People have gone unheard in favor of Big Business, Special Interests, and Religious Fundamentalism.  The voice of The People has been drowned out by the torrents of money being pumped into our government in exchange for programs and legislation that is counterproductive to the needs of the American People.  In some cases it is detrimental to the basic principles upon which this great nation was founded.

American jobs are being sent overseas and millions are unemployed.  The economy is still struggling while pork-barrel projects like the F-22 Raptor and MV-22 Osprey waste billions of dollars of taxpayer money.  Our borders are being penetrated by enemies of the United States every day while our troops are being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, with no objective or exit strategy in sight.

The two-party system has produced lackluster presidential candidates who are cut from the same cloth, but only wrapped in different party-affiliated flags.  Elections have come down to choosing the "lesser of two evils."  Minor parties have been relegated to the sidelines, coming into play only as potential spoilers, never really having a chance.  The Founders of this nation intended for there to be several political parties. So that all American voices and opinions would be heard and have a chance to be acted upon.

The ACP believes the time is right for the two-party system to come to an end.  Let's stop voting for the lesser of two evils and start voting for the best candidate.

The main goals of the ACP are: to minimize federal interference in Americans' personal affairs; put Americans back to work while maximizing national security; re-energize American manufacturing in order to make the US more self-sufficient; minimize our dependence on Middle Eastern oil in order to withdraw from the no-win politics of that region; but most of all, to make our government responsive to The People once more.  Thus the ACP denounces quid pro quo monetary influence from Big Business, Special Interests, and Religious dogma.

If you are tired of seeing Americans being polarized by the two party system and want to start putting this country back together, check out the ACP and see how we can work together to make this a better, safer, and more productive country.
