ACP
Platform Principles Summary
These are in no order of importance please check out the full
platform plank for full details if more details are listed in following
sections.
Border & Homeland
Security-Strong, Accountable, and
Vigilant.
America
has made great strides in defending herself from terror attacks since September
11, 2001. However freedom and security has a price and that price is constant
vigilance. The ACP supports strengthening our Homeland Security in three main
ways: technology, manpower and improving protection of civil rights. Homeland
Security must always be effective and if possible perfect in every way. We
cannot afford for it not to be. America’s
defense and security comes first to the American Centrist Party. American
defense and security makes every American dream possible. Thus the ACP
supports:
Securing the Homeland:
1. Creation
of the Border Security Force
a. Equipped and trained similarly to the U.S.
Military.
2. Stricter
Controls on Immigration
a. More
detail in our Immigration Reform platform plank.
3. More
Federal Employees in Border Security
a. Establish
a Border Security Force
Academy similar to the
U.S. Military academies.
b. Establish
recruiting stations and processes similar to the U.S. Military.
4. Protecting
Civil Rights.
5. Local
Disaster Preparation
a. Formations
of State run Civil Defense Teams.
6. Increase inspection of all cargo containers entering US territory and
3-D Holographic scanners at airports.
a. These scanners can scan a person’s
whole body inside and out without the time and potential problems caused by
other forms of checking.
Reform of the USA
Patriot Act:
- The
ACP does not support the USA Patriot Act as it is currently written and
enforced.
- The
ACP supports revising the Patriot Act and continuing to have it up for
Congressional review and reauthorization. Something as powerful as the
Patriot Act should never be made permanent under any circumstances.
- Review
and reauthorization will allow for strengthening the Patriot Act and
revising any abuses or weaknesses therein.
- The
ACP supports having an independent review board made up of civil liberty,
military, intelligence, legal experts and human rights group to monitor
the Patriot Act and hear any alleged abuses or alleged violations of civil
rights due to the Patriot Act. This review board will then determine if
the case is valid enough to bring to the attention of the US Justice
Department for the proper attention.
