Foreign Relations: Middle East & Africa

 

The Middle East is currently the most strategically important area in the world for the United States for two reason, oil and terrorism. The United States must maintain a strong presence in the Middle East to work for peace and cooperation between the Middle Eastern nations and America. Our cultures share many ties, economically, militarily and socially. We must maintain a strong presence in the Middle East with strong, fair diplomacy backed up with our military support only at the last option. The ACP is committed to working with moderate nations in the area for peace and cooperation and also is in favor of helping the Middle Eastern nations prepare their economies and people for a time when oil no longer dominates.

            Africa is a story of failed nations because of failed leaders, lack or educational opportunities, and repression. Africa is an emerging front in the War on Terrorism and the United States must stand ready to combat it with other African nations. The ACP believes that America needs to stand with the African nations and people as they struggle to build a better life for themselves. Thus, the American Centrist Party supports:

 

Foreign Relations: Middle East:

 

1.      The ACP supports fostering and maintaining a strong economic and military alliance with Israel.

 

2.      The ACP supports a Palestinian state in the Middle East. The ACP supports not negotiating or working with any Palestinian government that is a terror group or has suspected terror ties.

 

3.      The ACP supports working with our allies and partners to encourage the Israeli and Palestinian peace process. The ACP supports having the Israeli and Palestinians work out their peace without having demands put in by other nations.

 

4.      The ACP supports fostering the democratic process in the Middle East.

 

5.      The ACP supports maintaining close ties to Saudi Arabia using these ties and our influence America can help build change in Saudi Arabia. Also the ACP supports the continuing monitoring and investigation if the of incidents where the Saudi government might be financing or supporting terror.

 

6.      The ACP supports negotiation with Syria regarding military, terror and Palestinian issues.

 

7.      The ACP will continue to support all moderate and peaceful Middle Eastern nations.

 

Foreign Relations: Africa:

 

  1. The ACP supports America supporting a democratic Africa

 

  1. Continue to develop economic ties with democratic African nations

 

  1.  Continue aid to develop Africa and combat AIDS

 

  1. Establish fair trade with democratic African nations

 

  1. Work with NGO’s (Non Governmental Organizations) charities and development agencies to help African nations become self reliant and democratic nations.

 

  1. Work with African nations to fight terrorism and keep terrorists from gaining ground in Africa.

 

  1. Work with African nations to contain and eliminate naval piracy.
