Foreign Relations: Europe & Russia

The world is changing and new nations are emerging around the world as the many nations of the developing world develop. However Europe is still a strong and is still democratic. The United States and Europe must stand united in our desire to defend our shared values of freedom and democracy. Radical Islam has already made great inroads into Europe. All phases of our relationship need to be strong with Europe: trade, diplomacy and militarily. Only by standing up together can Europe and America truly defeat the blight of Radical Islam that threatens the freedom the entire world. Our climate and energy crisis is one that America needs to work on together by coming together to address and act on energy and climate issues is the only real way real worldwide change will happen and the ACP supports this.

America’s relationship with Russia now is as important as it was during the Cold War, but it is even more complicated than ever. Russia is still in the throes of new democratic processes and its transition has been difficult. Russia is becoming a larger and large player in the world’s energy market. We must work with Russia to let them know that we desire peaceful cooperation and we do not want another Cold War or hot war for that matter. Thus, the ACP supports:

The ACP needs to maintain a strong alliance and ties with our allies within the European community.

2. We will foster new ties and alliances with Eastern European nations and former Soviet republics.

  1. Encourage continuing democratic reforms in Russia and the former Soviet republics.

  1. Expand trading with the European Union and humanitarian and space exploration efforts and combating global warming.

  1. Maintain bases in Europe but redeploy troops to have decreased numbers in Europe.

  1. Work to ease Russian concerns about a US-European missile defense shield.

Continue to develop and implement a US-European missile defense shield.
